ADHD Medications React to Immunity: Immunity Language Beyond ADHD
Just as when traveling in any new territory we need useful new brain maps to find the towns we will be visiting. Many of these towns show up on the map with names we haven't heard before – and those names can be down right intimidating – even to a psychiatrist: “Cytokines,” “Chemokines,” “T-Cells,” “NK Cells,” even “allergens“ and “IgG“ are terms that go beyond everyday medication understanding. Each new messenger can significantly effect brain function.
But each of these terms can become exceedingly relevant if you are one of the many who have problems with any psych meds, especially ADHD meds. I've seen it happen now hundreds of times – not only the old meds don't work, those new meds like Intuniv create significant side effects, and then if trying to use supplements to help as neurotransmitter precursors – they don't work either…. if immune challenges are corrupting the system.
ADHD Medication Treatment Failure: Often Resolved
To get beyond treatment failure the medical community and the public will need to take some time to learn this new immune language, the new maps partially outlined in this brief video. I recommend this one for ease of watching, for it's simple demonstration of some of the many topics we have covered in past posts – and will be reporting more to you about the relevancy of immunity moving forward. Understanding and correcting immunity issues isn't the only possible resolution of chronic ADHD medication treatment failure, but careful testing in our offices has dramatically improved our improvement rate for otherwise “untreatable” folks across the psych spectrum. Immunity issues reveal that psych problems involve far more insight than current diagnostic labels.

Take a look at this one and see what you think… and do drop a comment below on your reactions to these new maps! About 10 minutes.
We do have to start somewhere with our understanding of brain immunity, – and while this is a bit deep it does cover some important basics!

hi I have a child who is 9 years old who is Ben just diagnosed with a micro duplication on chromosome 17 very small a 1.4 it bad for years we’ve been having difficulties with the tension medication focalin ritalin um I need help please umm when he takes the riddle and um he even at the lowest does the 5 milligram very um subdued his speech dramatically declines I’m wondering if there’s any other medications out there that um would not affect his motor planning with the kids any help would be great I’m looking for answers please help me
Kimberly,
Regardless of the chromosomal diagnosis your Ben most likely suffers from significant metabolic and immune challenges that limit metabolism of meds: See these two video playlists for more info:

2. ADHD Meds & Allergies – Milk and Wheat: http://bit.ly/mawimmun
Testing for IgG food immunities is clearly recommended – qualitative not quantitative, expect medical blow-back. In spite of world thought leaders and researchers identifying the brain importance of these matters those uniformed about brain science regularly balk at the connection.

Guest,
You are right, this video is not meant as a prescription of any kind, but an effort to help readers here become more informed about the language. The short answer to your report on what you have tried: show me the evidence. Just throwing good ideas against the wall isn’t working? – the leave the framework of thinking and take the next logical step into measurement – just type measurement of IgG into the SEARCH box on CorePsych Blog, and you will have plenty of firm suggestions.

So now what? Thanks for sharing the video – but what should be our next steps?
If you are taking the probiotics, digestive enzymes, done a cleanse and eat all organic after removing all allergens. Medications still don’t work!? Done the neurotransmitter support, etc. What do you tell your clients to try in regards to this video?
